Ok maybe not 101 ways…but that would be pretty awesome huh? We’ll see what I come up with.

What the heck am I going to do with all these scraps??

scrap pile

After all the cutting and snipping from all my projects and failed experiments, my scraps have definitely piled up in  my room. My sister even took notice and wanted me to get rid of it, but being the packrat that I am, I refuse!!! There will be use for these scraps one day!!! I know it!!! However, I’m going to slowly get rid of all these “boy”  friend scraps one day at a time.

I’ll start this chapter off with some pant legs that were cut off to make shorts and an old Neff shirt donated by a cool “boy” friend.

Since Winter is coming up very soon, I decided to incorporate the two to make a…SCARF!!!

Before I continue on how to make a scarf like mine, I’ll tell you now that this requires a lot of sewing (and if you’re a newbie like me, a little patience).

You’ll be needing:

1.) Your BF’s jean’s scraps or any scrap material you’d like to use.

2.) Your BF’s old graphic tee. The more design, the better!

3.) Measuring tape or a ruler

4.) Scissors

5.) An iron (this is optional, but it will help you out MUCHO)

6.) A seam ripper

7.) A sewing machine or the traditional needle and thread

8.) Pins

Got everything? Alright, let’s clean this scrap mess up!!!

First, you want to take your pant legs and cut them at the seams so you have more material to work with. Once you’ve done that, cut your scraps into squares. The size is completely up to you, but they have to be even width-wise. To make things easier when it comes to sewing, use your seam ripper to cut off the bottom seam of the pants.

After having all your squares ready, fold a bit of the square and iron it down. By ironing it down, you create a seam line which makes it easier to sew. Begin pinning the pieces together and start sewing!!!

Continue sewing on your pieces until you have reached the length you want for your scarf. Once you’ve done that, iron the rough side (the side with all the seams) until it is flat. Cut up the rest of your t-shirt and sew it onto the rough side so it could keep your neck warm! If you want, you can also continue the pattern on the other side. Here is what the other side of my scarf looks like:

wahoo.

If you guys are really interested in making this scarf, I’ll go ahead and make a video entry for the youtube channel. Other than that, keep up with the website for my future creations with “boy” friend scraps!
