The brokefashionblogger on life, fashion, and all that in between.

Contrary to popular belief being fashionable and liking to shop does not eliminate brains out of the equation. Fashion is just a creative outlet for me. After you let your brain soak in endless diseases, symptoms, treatments, nursing interventions, medications like hydrochlorothiazide and benzodiazapem you need a little time to unwind. Plus cutting things with scissors is always fun. Did I give myself away? Shoot! Sorry friends I am no fashion or design major. I have no degree in creating clothing. And yes, my childhood dream of becoming a professional ice-skater and competitive gymnast did not come into play either. I am currently working on B.S. in nursing and minor in Child development. I am in the pediatric and obstetric rotation at my University, which means I get to spend my days taking care of new infants and children. I’m looking forward to spending some clinical experience at Stanford’s children’s hospital Lucile Packard these upcoming months.
In the future, I plan on moving to New York or Paris, wherever the travel bug takes me, to hopefully work as a traveling nurse. Oh yes, nothing like spending your day off in a posh café in the middle of Paris. I’ll enjoy my French baguette with assorted cheeses while drinking a fine glass of wine. Beautiful Parisians will walk by with their Bichon Frises and I’ll great them “Bonjour comment allez-vous?” in my mediocre French. And on the weekends I’ll sail the French Riviera with my boyfriend, while wearing his t-shirt that I shredded a couple years back.
I mean come on ladies and gentlemen gotta dream big right? But for now just one step at a time and working on my degree and doing diy projects in my spare time. Visit me at my home blog here.

i love this. you’re right, it does take brains! i know it could take me up to 30 minutes to put one outfit together…for school. i think it’s the fashionable part that gives us trouble. you put a look together, and it has potential, but your fahionista steps in and lets you know your shoes are off or your belt is wrong or…whatever. i give you all props for coming up with these things on your own.
