So this one was inspired by our very own blogger, Anjelica Mangubat. Saturday morning, she came in all cute for our photoshoot with SJ Helium, while the rest of us were looking quite miserable in our tees and sweats. I’m kidding. You all look good, considering it was 8am for a Saturday Morning. :) Actually, Anjelica came in also in a tee, but she had an extra piece that made her overall outfit bold and stunning. No, it’s not just the red beanie. It’s her black tank.

After admiring her tank, I was like, “hey I need to make this – since I have no idea where she got it. And I knew it was possible.” So here I go, 4 days later biting off her hot sense of style – I made something similar. Using the black American Apparel t-shirt Tuan donated to MyBFCloset from his Anh Oi collection – I hesitantly cut it. I’m usually okay with cutting up shirts – except Tuan is also the creator and designer of it. >.< I guess I have to really make it up through my work. Yikes – oh the pressure.

It is very similar to Agnes’ Boyfriend Basics: “Is that my shirt you’re cutting?” ; the only difference is that the cut is lower & deeper for the front & back side. So with 3 snips – the left sleeve, the right sleeves, the collar & chest part of the shirt: I did it! And because boyfriend and men tees are usually wider, a belt of some sort will sure wrap the overall piece together.

Also, because it’s getting colder lately, this is a great way to layer up the warmth fashionably over your thermal – perhaps your bf one? Hah! I don’t think so, that’s too much bf stuff on you – so just use yours. It will balance off your form with something wide and something fit. You can wear as a tunic with a black leggings, jeans, or even black sweats like I am below.

Or, make it your day to night transitioning outfit, as you turn your tunic into your romper skirt. Not to shabby, eh? With all that done – I am actually pretty pleased with what I did to Tuan’s shirt. I can wear it for all sorts of occasions and seasons with this over piece, romper skirt, black tank whatchamaysay – at the same time adding a little boldness & spunk to my wear.. :) All thanks to Anjelica’s fashion inspiration & Tuan’s shirt. Thank you both.

See me around in my bf clothes.

this looks great. i’m legite going to do this in 2 seconds. just a thought, but i’m really tall, so most of my shirts aren’t long enough to be dresses. tip: if it’s too short, pull the new straps (rolling technique, anyone?) to make them stretch.
