We’re glad you came back after your long hiatus, now please stay for good =).
Right after the Aviators were designed during WWII, pilots wanted to seek out a design that would not only have a sophisticated, modern appearance, but exclude metal from the design as well. Keeping this request in mind, Ray-Ban, the same manufacturers who made the “Aviator”, designed a pair of sunglasses that matched their needs–they called it the “Wayfarer”.

Big names like James Dean, John Lennon, Andy Warhol, and even JFK made this design really popular for men during their time.

…and although this particular design was originally designed for pilots and marketed to men, many women incorporated its masculine design into their everyday fashion. In fact, it was women like Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn who made it a fashion icon for women.

The Wayfarers and those similar to its design were the best selling sunglasses of the 50s and 60s. The sunglasses then took a dramatic sales decline around the late 70s early 80s causing it to be on the verge of discontinuation. Since then, Wayfarers took a fashion hiatus during the 90s.
…and now that it’s the 21st century…

They’re back and more popular than ever! You can also find them with different color frames and all types of price ranges. Curious? Go try them on yourself!!!
