During this time of the year, I get my seasonal scarf cravings. I love scarves – fat ones, skinny ones, thin ones, thick ones, black ones, colorful ones, boring ones & fun ones. But the ones you make are the best ones. This idea popped in my head out of nowhere when I was driving to home from work and being stuck in traffic, because my neck was cold, my outfit lacked an accessory & because I can’t get enough of scarves.
….so I decided to make another scarf out of the bf tee. The one is actually really easy – just some cutting & tugging.

Using his 5 years old tee from a Mae concert in SF, I cut 2/3 of it off. I wont be using the Mae & flower part.

So now I have this much tee to work with – I flipped it vertically so that the raw edges is now the hem.

From the raw edges, I cut strips; each strips being about an inch wide and about 13 inches high. I left a 5inch gap from my strips & the old hem.

Tediously cutting – It should look like this when you’re finished. I cut a total of 22 strips, but there should be a total of 44 strips because the shirt is folded, leaving me with two layers.

After cutting them, I pulled and tugged each strips like I would curl a ribbon. This will thin it out and curl the edges in, so it does not look too rough.

And you are basically done! Ta-da!

And if you are too cold, just wrap it around twice – like so.

So, if you are a scarf lover like myself & like this particular Circle Frill scarf, then go snatch yourself some bf tees and start cutting & tugging.

Keep warm for the Holidays
And Raid & Create,
Jessica

I was in need of a new scarf, plus I wanted some more fringe-y things. I couldn’t help but try this. I love it so much, good thinking! Guess who’s getting her friends circle scarves for Christmas?
Oh man I was about to spend $10 on a scarf like that (except it had chains on it) and I can make my own!! Thanks!!
