Simple steps on how to make your own bathing suit is finally here!

So the boyfriend was having mid life changing style crisis. He’s changing his looks from a boy to a man. And he’s throwing, donating a lot of this to me:

Printed-Hyphy-ish-colored t-shirts. Some of them are still cool and too cute for me to say bye bye. So I wanted to do something, re-invent on some T-shirts of his.
I wanted to do a bathing suit since it’s a Tuesday and summer heat is here!

Step 1:
grab your favorite bathing suits, and trace it so you’ll have a pattern:

The bottoms, spread it on the the t-shirt just like this.

The top, trace it on the sleeves just like this:

Step 2: Pin it & cut it.

When pinning, pin the back shirt too, don’t forget about the back side of it. Cut. The purpose is to make the cloth thicker, so if ever you go to dipping in the water, you have extra covers. :)

Step 3: Sewing.
This is somewhat complicated if you are a first timer, but no worries, it’s easier than you think.

When sewing, you have to sew it on the WRONG SIDE of the fabric, meaning– you have to flip the fabric so that when it’s all sewn, and flipped it will look professionally done.
When sewing it on the wrong side, don’t close (sew) it all the way, because you’re going to need to grab the inside (RIGHT SIDE OF THE FABRIC) for it to come out.

Step 4:

cut pieces of fabric about ohhh wee length, just like this:

then stretch it. Since it’s a jersey shirt, it stretches pretty long. Cut about 8 pieces of this.

Step 5:

Those pieces of strings are attached to all ends of the bathing suit. If in doubt, follow how your bathing suit is made.

Here is my piece of sample from the boyfriend’s shirt:

(sorry for the fatness, food is too good) :)

Well I hope you enjoyed the little two piece, and I hope you make your own. If you do try making it, I wanna see them please?

Lovelove,

Omg, this is amazing! I will be raiding my boyfriends closet and turning every shirt into a bathing suit! WHETHER HE LIKES IT OR NOT!

Haha thanks!

Though, I didn’t make this one, I’m sure this is safe to swim in. I would just sew another layer for padding. ;P
